Step 1 WordPress installation

To install this theme, you must have a working version of WordPress already installed on your server. WordPress is well-known for its ease of installation.

Step 2 TimesNews Theme Installation Through Dashboard (Easy)

  1. Log in to the WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Go to Appearance->Themes.
  3. Click on Add New Button.
  4. Search TimesNews
  5. Click on Install tab and Activate it
  6. Now your TimesNews theme is ready to Use

 

Step 3 Manual Installation using FTP (Advanced)

  • First download a zip file from https://wordpress.org/themes/timesnews/ .
  • Unzip timesnews.zip file at your PC.
  • Access your host web server using your favorite FTP client (such as Cyberduck or FileZilla etc).
  • Upload whole folder inside public_html/wp-content/themes/timesnews(folder) and Do not change directory/folder name.
  • Log into your WP admin paneland click on the Appearance->Theme tab.Now click on the TimesNews theme to activate it.

  • Extract zip extension
  • With your FTP program, upload the Plugin folder to the wp-content/plugins folder in your WordPress directory online.

Header Setup

Step 1 Upload Logo/ Fav Icon/ Web Icon

Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > WordPress Settings > Site Title & Logo Options > Upload Site Icon & Site Logo

Step 2 Setup Menu

By default, you will see all pages as menus. If you want to customize menus using links, pages, categories, then the custom menu is what you should be looking for.

  • In the Blog Dashboard, select Appearance > Menus.
  • Select “create a new menu” at the top of the page.
  • Enter a name for your new menu in the Menu Name box.
  • Click the Create Menu button.
  • Now, choose the pages, categories, custom links from the left side of your screen by selecting the checkbox and click on add menu
  • Under the Menu Settings, located at the bottom of your screen, select Primary and click on add menu
  • Click save menu after adding the required pages, categories & custom links in the menu

Step 3 Setup Social Icons

  • In the Dashboard, select Appearance > Menus.
  • Select “create a new menu” at the top of the page.
  • Enter a name for your new menu in the Menu Name box.
  • Click the Create Menu button.
  • Now, choose the Custom Url from left side with social icon url and name. Click on add menu
  • Click save menu after creating social icons

Note: If you are adding Social links on sidebar or in footer sidebar then your Social links Menu Name should be Social Links

Step 4 How to setup Header Image?

Header Image is a default WordPress features. Here is the process to display header image.

  • Log into your WordPress administrator dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Header.
  • Click “Choose File” and upload an image from your computer or from media library
  • Click Published and the settings will take effect immediately.

How to display Header Image custom Height?

  • Log into your WordPress administrator dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Header.
  • Change Header Image padding
  • Click Published and the settings will take effect immediately.

Importing the Demo Content

Note: This Demo Importer plugins is only for Plus users. If you are using free themes then download importer plugins from free instruction page. So we recommended to use free demo importer for free users and Plus demo importer for plus users. Also this importer plugin is for fresh themes who doesnot have anything to loose from their website. If you have existing site then don’t use this plugins to import dummy content

  1. Download Theme Freesia Demo Import and install it as a plugin
  2. Click on Dashboard > Appearance > Import Demo Data
  3. Click on Import Demo Data

Once you have imported the demo content delete One Click demo Import plugin

Custom CSS

You can add your custom CSS that will overwrite the theme CSS. Go to dashboard >appearance > Customize > Additional CSS

How to setup Main Banner?

Main Banner is a Slider.Follow the below steps to setup Main Banner.

  • Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
  • Go to Posts > Categories. To add a category and create it.
  • Then Click the ‘Posts’ tab to create a new post
  • Click the ‘Add New’ sub-tab.
  • Start filling in the blanks: enter your post title in the upper field, and enter your post body content in the main post editing box below it. On the right bottom of posts add featured image
  • Repeat above process multiple times to display in banner.
  • As needed, select a category just you created

How to setup Home ( TimesNews ) Template?

  • Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
  • Go To Dashboard > Pages > Add New and Give it a title.
  • In the page editor, there is a box on the right called Page> Template. From this box, you can select multiple page templates. Select “Home Template” and save the page.

Now go to dashboard> settings> reading> Your homepage displays then select “A static page (select below)” then select that page(home) in Homepage section.

How to setup Advertise Area ?

  • Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
  • Go to dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Widgets > Drag Image Widgets to Advertise Area Sidebar

How to setup TimesNews Template Left, Main and Right Sidebar section ?

  • Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
  • Go to Posts > Categories. To add a category and create it.
  • Then Click the ‘Posts’ tab to create a new post
  • Click the ‘Add New’ sub-tab.
  • Start filling in the blanks: enter your post title in the upper field, and enter your post body content in the main post editing box below it. On the right bottom of posts add featured image
  • Repeat above process multiple times to display in Left/ Right Highlighted Category section.
  • As needed, select a category just you created for both Left, Main and Right Sidebar section

Now setup Widgets on your Left, Main and Right Sidebar section

  • Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
  • Go to dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Widgets > Drag T-Freesia: Blog Category Posts, T-Freesia: Category Slide, T-Freesia: Latest Posts and T-Freesia: List Category Posts widgets
  • PRO WIDGETS
    T-Freesia: Big Small Category Posts, T-Freesia: Multi Column Category Posts
  • to Left, Main and Right Sidebar section
  • Select Category which you want to display. If no category is selected latest post will display.

Note: T-Freesia: Latest Posts Widgets is designed for Left/ Right Sidebar Section

  • Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
  • Go to dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Customizing > Theme Options > Excerpt Settings (Pro)
  • Change Excerpt Text

What is Front/ Home page posts categories?

Selected category under Front/ Home page posts categories will only be displayed. Otherwise all posts will be displayed in your home page/blog page. This is used especially to display certain category in your home/blog page.

  • Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
  • Go to dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Customizing > Theme Options > All theme Options > Front/ Home page posts categories
  • Select the category which you like to display in Home/ Blog Page.

  • Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).
  • Go to dashboard and navigate to Plugins > add Plugins
  • Install Contact Form 7 Plugins and activate it.
  • After Plugin activation Go to dashboard and navigate contact > add new
  • Fill out the Contact Form as you would like it to appear to your users
  • Click Save. This will provide shortcodes for your contact form
